All deputies within the Blaine County Sheriff's Office are expected to abide by the following guidlines and subsequent structure. Failure to do so may result in correction and/or punitive action.
All deputies have access to a selection of vests that they may use while on-duty. The type of vest they use is dictated by the below structure. "No Vest" includes essential body-worn equipment. "Patrol Vests" dictate which vests may be used regardless of the activity being participated in. "Priority/High Crime" vests are only to be used in the event a deputy is in the midst of a violent scene or has observed a recurring string of violent/high-priority scenes. Deputies may use discretion when determining if there's been a period of high crime and should refer to a patrol supervisor if unsure.
During high-risk violent scenarios, deputies are entitled to utilize any BCSO ballistic helmet. This does not apply to specialized equipment such as night-vision goggles or thermal binoculars which may be affixed to the helmet.
As a sheriff's deputy, you may have tattoos. However, your tattoos must not be gang-affiliate or exist above the neck.
The BCSO Command Staff may enforce a "Class of the Day" which requires all patrol deputies to utilize a specific uniform for patrol that day.
The BCSO Heads Team reserves the right to enforce or authorize a strict class uniform on those who fail to comply with the Uniform Structure.
Any and all exceptions to this structure and the above policies must be presented to the BCSO Command Staff via a BCSO Department Inquiry. This can be accomplished by navigating to #new-tickets in the main SADRP Discord and selecting "LEO / SAFR / DOJ / CivOps Ticket" --> "Application / Transfer / Question"Â --> "Department Inquiry" --> "BCSO". Uniform exceptions are voted upon by the command team and logged upon approval.
