All transfers into or out of the Blaine County Sheriff's Office are managed and approved by Command Staff+. All individuals who open a transfer ticket must give a detailed written statement about why they wish to join BCSO. Their DA is to provide a written report of the transferee's internal disciplinary action record and an explanation for each disciplinary action taken if requested.
Lateral transfers from the rank of Probationary Deputy to Lance Corporals will be authorized following a 12-hour vote among the department's Command Staff with a 2/3rds majority.
Lateral transfers from the rank of Corporal or above will be authorized following a 12-hour vote among the department's heads team with a 2/3rds majority.
Any lateral transfer must have a suitable reason to transfer.
Cadets can transfer with little to no reason or stipulations.
All regular incoming transfers must, at minimum, drop one rank according to the table below.
Any incoming transferee cannot have any internal punishments within the last 14 days.
Obviously, we do not do transfers to and from SAFD.
Canine
Canine transfers over if the transferee was trained in their previous department.
Detective Bureau
Detective transfers over if the transferee was trained in their previous department. All sub-certifications will require re-training and an LOI if applicable.
Special Response Team
Special Response Team does not transfer over. If they were trained in their previous department, they will be considered to have an accepted LOI.

Traffic Enforcement Unit transfers over if the transferee was trained in their previous department. The sub-certification transfer policy is as follows:
